• Use Student Reference Book page 319 and Journal pg. 293. Play with people at your own table unless you have permission.

Worksheet: Factor Trees

• Practice making Factor Trees on blank paper. Use a die two times to find out what number to work with. Do at least 5 factor trees.

Playdoh: 2-d Figures

• Do journal page 306.
• Next, use your table's playdoh to make the shapes on the worksheet. Clean it when your done so it can be reused.

Fraction Spin: One green spin page per pair and one Fraction Spin worksheet per person.

Journals: Pages 265 and 266. You make work quietly with your group. Don't give each other answers!

Playdoh: Use your playdoh to show equivalent fractions. fill out the 1/2 worksheet independently.

This week: fractions and self-esteem

We are beginning a new chapter in math that will help us use fractions and ratios. We'll practice comparing equivalent fractions, putting fractions in order, and even converting fractions to mixed numbers! I know you must be excited! Of course we'll be playing games in groups and using the world around us to practice.

In literacy, we'll be thinking about the meaning of self-esteem. Students will do a self inventory, then answer: What is the relationship is between your self-esteem and the choices you make? It's a big question that we should all consider when preparing for the next big step in our lives.

Positive and Negative numbers

Today we practiced comparing positive and negative numbers. We played what's my number to practice using 'greater than' and 'less then' to guess a secret number between -100 and 100.
